Texas Czech Genealogical Society (TCGS) “Czech Ancestors’ Early Lives
Saturday, September 24, 2022 – Turn back the pages of time with the Texas Czech Genealogical Society (TCGS) "Czech Ancestors’ Early Lives" in person event, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM (registration begins at 8:00 AM) at the Caldwell Civic Center, 103 Texas Highway 21W, Caldwell, TX 77836. Speakers: Dr. Mirek Koudelka – “Daily Lives of Our Ancestors”; Kent Laza and Mark Olsen – “Hus Schools and the Hus Encampment”; Karen Locher – “Indianola-Mighty Port to Ghost Town”; and Kimary Marble – “Family Search” All day a full library with books and materials brought from the TCGS Temple office library will be accessible. There will be an open floor plan during Saturday’s program which means you can sit in the library/book area doing genealogy research and also be able to view and hear the speakers and all presentations. Many useful books, including genealogy research books, maps, surname lists and much more, will be available. Most importantly, TCGS Librarians, Garry and Kimary Marble as well as Danny Leshikar, with his personal Czech files containing over 150,000+ names will be available to assist you with your genealogical research. There will be a Silent Auction and Czech Gift Shop as well as the drawing of the TCGS Raffle (see attached tickets) . Registration (includes morning refreshments and a catered lunch).
