Texas Czech Genealogical Society (TCGS) "Colorful Leaves of Fall - Locating Records and Learning about the Colorful Lives of Our Ancestors" event September 23, 2023 at the Caldwell Civic and Visitor Center, 103 Texas Hwy. 21 West, Caldwell, TX 77836. You do not have to be a TCGS member or of Czech heritage to attend. Everyone is welcome. There will be the following speakers: Dranna Belden - The Portal to Texas History: A Powerful Tool for History and Genealogy Bill Buckner - Tracing Roots Offline: "Books Are Our Real Friends" Mirek Koudelka - How They Lived - A Year in the Lives of Our Czech Ancestors Stephanie Stiborik Reeves - The Life of Joseph Anton Stiborik, Radar Operator on the Enola Gay. The TCGS Library will be open, along with TCGS librarians Kimary and Garry Marble, and Danny Leshikar with his large database on site to enhance your personal research. There will be a Country Table laden with baked goods, fresh vegetables, homemade jellies and relishes, hand crafts, as well as wood crafted and homemade items, etc. The Silent Auction table will be set up as well as the Czech Gift Shop. We have been scouring the world searching for items that will make your CHRISTmas giving the easiest ever! Besides our many new beautiful CHRISTmas ornaments from the Czech Republic and the ornaments that we offer which represent a legend, a tradition, or a symbol, we will also have all of the TCGS book publications, Jewelry, Crystal, Pottery, Nail Files, Caps, Aprons, Throw pillows, Books, Dictionaries, Maps, and Much, Much More! Morning refreshments and lunch (BBQ chicken, potato salad, coleslaw, beans, rolls, cake and tea) will be available. Refreshments and lunch are included in the registration fee. You do not have to be a TCGS member to attend. TCGS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit society.
